Biography

Sofia Torres Prida is a professional photographer exploring and documenting cultural idiosyncrasies, identity, power and community. She has studied and worked in Switzerland, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, the Dominican Republic and the United States, and has both a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts with a specialization in Photography (Zurich University of the Arts, Switzerland) and a Master's in Strategic Design and Management (Parsons School of Design, New York).  During this time, she participated in an exchange program in Melbourne, Australia, and later relocated to the United Arab Emirates to gain work experience in audiovisual media. 

In November 2021, she published her first book Sueños y Gloria (Dreams and Glory), in which she documents the experiences of poverty, migration, and success of the most prominent figures of Dominican baseball history. She currently lives in New York and continues to explore Dominican identity from different perspectives.
